Umphrey’s McGee have confirmed a slew of 2027 dates. The Fresh Cut Tour will kick off at Columbus, OH’s KEMBA Live! on January 15 and hit markets throughout the country before coming to a close with shows at Aspen, CO’s Belly Up on March 18 and 19.
The run comes after an impactful few years, which has seen the departure of longtime drummer Kris Myers in 2025 and guitarist Jake Cinninger this past summer. Along with the announcement, the band explained, “New year. Fresh Cut. Umphrey’s McGee is hitting the road in 2027, turning the page with renewed energy and plenty of daylight ahead. There is a whole lot of good music and good times still to cultivate. Check out the Fresh Cut Tour dates and come see what’s growing. You’ve yet to ever witness our best.”
Over the weekend, Umphrey’s McGee hosted their annual UM Bowl event at The Pabst Theater in Milwaukee, WI on Friday and Saturday. Both shows boasted three sets, each of which had a special theme. Night one of UM Bowl XII kicked off with Choose Your Own Adventure: Electric and the ensemble then devoted sections to Choose Your Vintage: 1999 and Band’s Choice. The 1999 vintage segment setup the return of “Nachos for Two” for the first time since November 1, 2003, and the first ”All Things Ninja” since January 22, 2025. During their encore, Umphrey’s McGee also revived “Baby Honey Sugar Darlin’” for the first time since November 11, 2022.
Then, on Sunday, the group’s theme was Choose Your Own Adventure: UMplugged while their second set was billed as All Night Wrong: 80’s and the third set was Band’s Choice. The Midwest-bred group busted out a slew of songs at various points throughout the show, including their first take on “No Excuses” since March 15, 2025, their first “Rocker” since July 8, 2022, their first “YYZ” since August 17, 2925 and their first “Spirits in the Material World” since October 31, 2019. Most notably, they also revived Seth Kaufman’s “Strolling a Suspension Bridge” for the first time since a February 28 gig at South Bend, IN’s Madison Oyster Bar, a gig that took place just a few months after their official formation. That date was the only known time they covered the cut. They also used the Saturday’s engagement to debut a slew of covers, including Pearl Jam’s “Black,” Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me,” Tears For Fears’ “Head over Heels,” Madonna’s “Material Girl,” Duran Duran’s “Hungry Like the Wolf,” Faith No Moore’s “Epic” and Nirvana’s “All Apologies.”
