Drive-By Truckers have confirmed their initial 2027 dates. Those appearances include the group’s annual HeAthens Homecoming shows at Athens, GA’s 40 Watt, which will be held from February 10-13. This year the band plans to preview material from their forthcoming new studio album during the residency, which will once again benefit Nuçi’s Space. Taylor Hollingsworth (2/10), Crazier (2/11), Camp Amped Band (2/12) and The Star Room Boys (2/13) will provide support duties during the stand.
From there, Drive-By Truckers will hit the road, moving from Cleveland, OH’s Globe Iron on February 19 to New Braunfels, TX’s Gruene Hall on March 5 and 6. Brown Horse will serve as direct support throughout the run.
Of the upcoming shows, Patterson Hood explains:
HeAthens Homecoming 2027 is Coming Feb 10th - Feb 13th
4 Big Nights of Rock & Roll and raising $$ and awareness for Nuçi’s Space at the Fabulous 40 Watt Club in Athens Georgia. This is the 27th Homecoming and it’s going to be a doozy.
Feb 10th we will kick it off with Taylor Hollingsworth.
DBT has a long history with Taylor, and our beloved Bobby Matt has way more, playing on and coproducing his excellent new album Folk N’ Roll and releasing it on his Dial Back Sound label.
We plan to preview some songs from our nearly finished upcoming next album that evening so DON’T MISS!
Feb. 11th we will be joined by Crazier.
They are one of the best of newer Athens GA bands, led by Eli Raps with her excellent songs and presence.
The band has been touring behind their supercool EP This Dog Spits and completing their full length follow up. This will be super fun!
Feb. 12th will kick off with the Camp Amped Band. This annual tradition showcases some of the most amazing young talent from Nuçi Space’s Camp Amped program. They will be followed by Julia Barfield. Julia is another of the best up and coming talents in Athens legendary music scene. She is also singing on our next album. Super excited to have her play with us.
Feb. 13th will kick off with the annual Nuçi’s Space Auction / Fundraiser at Nuçi’s Space that afternoon then that evening at the 40 Watt our special guests for the evening will be The Star Room Boys.
The Star Room Boys was one of the most beloved Athens bands ever from their early 90’s beginnings until around 2002. DBT’s first ever tour was a co-bill with SRB in 1997. You definitely do not want to miss this one.
After, DBT will embark on their first full-on tour in over a year. Playing shows in the southeast and Texas with our new friends Brown Horse. Killer band from Norwich England, touring behind their critically acclaimed album Total Dive.
See you at The Rock & Roll Show!
