Alabama Shakes continue to deliver stunning performance after stunning performance and last night was no different as the band descended on Stephen Colbert’s Late Show to perform the slow-burner “Joe,” a bonus track from their latest, Sound & Color. 

Brittany Howard helped Colbert usher in his new era of late night hosting as she appeared on the premiere episode alongside the likes of Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, Mavis Staples, Buddy Guy, Ben Folds, Paul Janeway and many more. The megajam (if you’re keeping score at home–yes, that is bigger than a superjam) featured a singalong rendition of Sly & the Family Stone’s “Everyday People” led by house band Jon Batiste & Stay Human.
