Relix Presents the Lockn’ Times

September 02, 2014

As we near the start of the second annual Lockn' Festival, Relix is proud to bring you the inaugural edition of the Lockn' Times. Available each day at the festival and edited by Relix editor-in-chief Dean Budnick, the Times will include everything you need to navigate the weekend including a map of the grounds and performance schedule. Festivalgoers should also expect a full recap of the previous days festivities as well as photos from the day, interviews with musicians on the grounds and much, much more.

Each day, the Times will also run images from those attending the festival. Photos will be selected from those who post to Instagram using the hashtag #LocknTimes. While there are no performances on Wednesday, feel free to submit pictures from your commute to be published in the paper on Thursday.

Lockn’ will return to Arrington, VA on September 4-7, featuring Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Allman Brothers Band, Phil Lesh & Friends, Wilco, Widespread Panic, The String Cheese Incident, Willie Nelson, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Umphrey’s McGee, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals and many others. Both single day tickets and four day passes are available.

As an aside, if you're looking for a soundtrack to your travels to Lockn', click here to check out our Spotify playlist made up of artists that will be appearing at the festival including Umphrey's McGee, Tom Petty, Widespread Panic and more!

I’m coming, even with a elbow replacement and a defibulator/pacemaker. Can’t miss it because I did not get to Woodstock’! Lockn’ IS my Woodstock!

Question for those who came last year:  Was the horrible wait to get in early, when people were trying to get camp sites, or later in the day. Have you heard any reason to believe it will be better this year?  Thanks!

Getting my GPS set for the Lockn and the van packed

It was a horrible wait last year the first day.  Site access was limited and searching vehicles took much longer than anticipated.  Lockn press releases indicate that much of that has been resolved, but…festival was relatively small last year, and I have no idea how many tickets have been sold this year.  Does anyone have that info?

Getting to lockn was a breeze. The whole experience was 100 times better than last year

Was there a Monday issue of the Lockn’ Times for the 2014 Lock’n?
