Joni Mitchell Suffered a Brain Aneurysm

May 29, 2015

Sources close to Billboard have told the publication that Joni Mitchell suffered a brain aneurysm, which led to her lengthy hospitalization. A new report by Showbiz 411 also claims that she has been moved to a rehab center and is “improving.” “It’s a long way to go, but she can do it,” a source told Showbiz 411. They also added that speech is difficult but she is able to communicate. Another source tells Billboard notes her condition as “very serious.”

The 71-year old singer was found unconscious in her Los Angeles home on March 31, although the cause was previously unknown. Earlier this month, an attorney cited her release from the hospital during a court hearing regarding longtime friend Leslie Morris and her status as Mitchell’s conservator.
