Bluegrass outfit Trout Steak Revival released their latest record Spirit to the Sea this past fall, and today we premiere the official video for album track “Spirit,” a song about encouraging openness and new experiences. 

“We all tell stories about how we experience life, to ourselves, and to the people around us. Some of these stories are river stories, and some are ruts,” Trout Steak Revival’s Will Koster explains to Relix. “‘Rut’ stories are ones that have dead ends without room for growth, and ‘river’ stories are the thoughts and words we use that create endless possibilities for development and expansion. When we spread these stories of openness and potential, we encourage and give others permission to do the same. The song ‘Spirit’ was inspired by a time when I fell into a rut and was pulled out of it by a new friend who reminded me how to live openly, ready for any new experience that was flowing my way.”
