On May 11, Fantasy Records will release a new studio album from Ry Cooder. The Prodigal Son, Cooder’s first new solo record album in six years, features three original songs along with eight of Cooder’s favorite spirituals, including Blind Willie Johnson’s “Everybody Ought to Treat a Stranger Right”,  which we premiere today. Cooder will support the album with a national tour that kicks off on June 4 in Alexandria, VA, with the dates listed below the studio performance.  Cooder describes “Everybody Ought To Treat A Stranger Right” as “one of Blind Willie Johnson’s great songs – he’s the go to guy.”
