Paul McDonald will release his debut solo album on June 1. Jordan Lehning (Caitlin Rose, Rodney Crowell) produced Modern Hearts at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC, with a variety of stellar studio musicians performing live alongside McDonald. The record embodies the pensive, soulful approach that has led McDonald to share the stage with such artists as Stevie Wonder, Father John Misty and Emmylou Harris.

McDonald reflects, “’New Lovers’ is the opening track on the album. I wrote this song a few years ago for a girl that I fell for when I first moved back to Nashville. It’s not about getting ‘high or stoned.’ It’s about that inimitable, rare, and magical feeling that is new love. The ‘honeymoon phase’ that in itself is much more powerful than all the drugs.”

He will support the record, which is now available for pre-order, with a series of dates listed below the video.
