Mason Jennings recorded his latest album Songs From When We Met in a barn-studio in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The result is a warm, contemplative record inspired to a large degree by his recent marriage. He reflects, “I hope it brings hope and joy to those who listen.”


Today we premiere the official video for “Race You To The Light” from the new album. Jennings tells Relix, “While writing this song, I was living out on a farm in Minnesota where I’d take long walks in the woods each day by a river. For weeks straight an owl would come and perch beside me on my walks. I looked up what owl means in Native American animal medicine and it means ‘turning darkness into light.’ That became the theme of the album. The video was directed by my friend Benson Ramsey who is in the band The Pines.”
