Video Premiere: Dragondeer “When I See You”

March 2, 2018

Today, Denver-based quartet Dragondeer are releasing their debut album, If You Got The Blues. The psych-blues and soul band enlisted Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Lucinda Williams) to produce the record. They recorded in California’s Topanga Canyon, CA using the surrounding environment as a source of inspiration. Today we share their official video for “”When I See You” from the new album.

Dragondeer lead vocalist and guitar player Eric Halborg tells Relix, “When I wrote the words to ‘When I See You,’ I wanted to capture the wild unbridled excitement of reuniting with a lover after time spent apart. We like to stretch out the live version and let the audience (and the band) dance to this one. It’s one of the only songs we play live where I put down my guitar and get to shake it with the crowd. For the video I wanted to speak to that cut loose boogie vibe we see at our shows. We sent the track to a few close friends that we knew like to get down and asked them to put ‘When I See You’ on their stereo and film themselves and their “Dance like there’s nobody watching” reaction.”

Dragondeer will celebrate the release of If You Got The Blues at Denver’s Bluebird Theater next Saturday, March 10.
