Nashville-based singer-songwriter Devon Gilfillian self-released his debut EP, Travelin’ Blues, in 2016, and the Philadelphia-area native has since sold out headlining shows in his two hometowns and gone on tour with the likes of Keith Urban, Gladys Knight, The Lone Bellow and more, along with performing The National Anthem at this year’s NFL Draft.

Gillfillian’s newest single, “Troublemaker,” was released earlier this year, and today we premiere the live, in-studio version of the tune, recorded at Nashville’s Smoakstack studio. 

“My favorite thing to do after writing a tune is bring it to life with a full band, and I’m so lucky I have a group of badass humans/musicians to make that happen,” Gilfillian tells Relix. “Jon and Tay (drums & bass) bring a swampy Beck vibe to the rhythm while Carson (keys) takes the track into outer space. Abigail and Maureen (BGVs) bring these epic female vocals that give the track so much more soul. We had such a blast recording this at Smoakstack in Nashville.”
