Tool Send Message to Fans: “Wait for It”

June 22, 2015

Tool fans have been patiently awaiting official word on the band’s forthcoming studio album, which will serve as the follow-up to 2006’s 10,000 Days. While that still hasn’t arrived, a cryptic post on the band’s website may foreshadow some type of announcement. Yesterday morning, a post simply stating “Wait for it…” went live, causing a stir amongst the band’s loyal followers.

Back in March, Tool’s Adam Jones spoke on the new project, saying that the band had to overcome a few obstacles in the making of this album including a multi-million dollar lawsuit and a “do-or-die” illness suffered by one of the band members. “When you’re trying to write music and you have that eating away at you–this person you’re married to and you love and hate at the same time has something they’re dealing with that’s out of their control–it’s distracting.”

Still, Jones said that the band had one song completed at the time and expected to complete another 10. “Some of it’s really heavy, some of it’s complex and some is more atmospheric, but it’s definitely Tool.” He didn’t have a guess as to when the project could be released, but did say that “every day we work on the songs is a productive day and we’re getting closer and closer to finishing them.”

Stay tuned to the band’s website for any forthcoming details.
