On March 9, Roots of Creation will release their latest studio effort, Grateful Dub. The record presents the band’s interpretations of Grateful Dead compositions in a reggae dub style. Roots of Creation enlisted Errol Brown (Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Rebelution) to record, mix and co-produce the album, which will be released  on the band’s label, Bombshelter Records, in collaboration with Controlled Substance Sound Labs (distribution: SRG-ILS via Caroline/Universal Music Group). Grateful Dub also features guest appearances by Stephen Marley, G. Love, Melvin Seals and others.

Today, we share the premiere of “Ripple” from Grateful Dub, on which Roots of Creation is joined by G. Love and Melvin Seals. RoC’s Brett Wilson tells Relix,
“G. Love & Melvin Seals paying homage to Jerry and the boys behind an acoustic campfire style roots reggae vibe…. what more could you want?! We really love the instrumental section with the dubs, drops and interplay between Andrew’s Sax and G’s harmonica. G and I started jammin’ together at Slightly Stoopid’s mexican getaway festival—Closer to the Sun—and really hit it off over some epic poolside late night jam sessions. Melvin played on our last album Livin Free and the first live debut of the Grateful Dub at Jerry Jam Festival in Bath, NH. Since then we have all become good friends and collaborate whenever possible.”

G. Love adds, “Killer to get to play some harmonica on this skank version of one of my favorite Grateful Dead tunes. Roots of Creation got it right.”
