Song Premiere: Big Sam’s Funky Nation “Buzzin’”

March 15, 2018

Big Sam’s Funky Nation
has gained a well-deserved reputation for delivering animated live shows filled with songs that draw on funk, jazz, rock, and hip-hop to remain locked in audience members' heads for weeks to come. On May 4, the New Orleans collective will release a studio record just in time for Jazz Fest. Today we premiere “Buzzin’” from the forthcoming release.

The band tells Relix, “’Buzzin’ is one of those songs that’s about trying to holla at the baddest chick in the building, finally getting her & being hooked like a drug. She keeps you buzzin all night till the sun comes up & all night again. You’re pretty much a junkie for her lovin’. When writing this one, some of my favorite cats came to mind like, Zapp & Roger, and Morris Day & The Time. The track is funky and has a vibe! Guaranteed to make you shake something!”
