Song Premiere: Adron “Be Like the Sea”

July 23, 2018

Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Adron will release her new album,
Water Music, on August 17, and today we premiere new album track “Be Like the Sea.” The song finds Adron continuing to explore her influences drawn from Brazilian Tropicália music, a style that first caught her attention at a young age.

“Consider ‘Be Like The Sea’ a wishful throwback to the early days of
The Muppet Show, back in the early ’70s when you’d have Harry Belafonte and Stevie Wonder hanging out in goofy costumes, surrounded by puppet fish and parrots, singing about whatever, to totally solid ’70s pop jams,” Adron tells Relix. “That’s where I want this song to live. It’s generally, vaguely about the ocean, and happiness and freedom – it’s only barely about anything, really, because in my heart of hearts I think there’s no philosophy of any value in the universe that doesn’t just boil down to celebrating happiness, freedom and niceness. And the best way I can think of to say that is just to create a vibe.”

The lilting “Be Like the Sea,” which can be heard below, follows up lead Water Music single “Your Habitat.” Adron will play a hometown show at Atlanta’s Terminal West on August 23 after the album is released.
