Roger Waters Releases First Single From Upcoming Solo Record “Smell the Roses”

April 21, 2017

One day after Roger Waters unveiled more information on his upcoming solo record Is This the Life We Really Want?, the bassist has released the first audio from the record in the form of new single "Smell the Roses," available to stream below.

The song touches on more political themes, with Waters singing: "This is the room where they make the explosions, where they put your name on the bomb. Here's where they bury 'buts' and 'ifs,' scratch out words like 'right' and 'wrong.'"

The record finds Waters teaming with Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich and follows the 1992 album Amused to Death. Due out June 2, Waters will support the album with a massive tour that kicks off May 26 at the Spring Center in Kansas City, MO.
