Paradise Waits for Furthur

July 31, 2013

Furthur will be heading south of the border for the first time this coming January for a four night run at the Hard Rock Hotel in Riviera Maya, Mexico. The event, billed as Paradise Waits, will take place January 20-24, 2014, with the band performing on the 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd.

In addition the four shows, fans will also be able to enjoy the benefits of an all-inclusive resort, with all meals, drinks and other activities included in the package. There will also be various cultural activities and excursions for people to enjoy during the day, before the night’s Furthur performances.

Packages for the event—which is being put on by Cloud 9—will go on sale August 14 at noon ET. All-Inclusive prices range from $1549-$2999 per person based on double occupancy and include a four-night stay at the resort, four full shows by Furthur, access to all-inclusive resort amenities and more.

The Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya is set to open in October of this year. The new resort will be located just south of Playa de Carmen.

Paradise Waits will be Furthur’s first foray into the resort festival waters, which more and more bands are treading these days. Widespread Panic has Panic en la Playa and Gov’t Mule has Island Exodus, while STS9, Umphrey’s McGee and the Disco Biscuits team up for Mayan Holidaze and Yonder Mountain String Band, Leftover Salmon and others perform at Strings & Sol.
