Eric Clapton Spotted in Wheelchair After Postponing Shows Due to Bronchitis

March 31, 2017

After postponing two upcoming shows at The Forum in Los Angeles due to “severe bronchitis,” Eric Clapton was spotted in a wheelchair at the Los Angeles airport.

A report from X17 showed images of the 71-year old being wheeled through the airport and noted that he is “said to be suffering from pneumonia.”

Clapton’s health issues have been well-documented in recent years, with the famed guitarist noting in June of 2016 that his guitar playing has been limited due to peripheral neuropathy that started as lower back pain. “Which is where you feel like you have electric shocks going down your leg,” he said “It’s hard work to play the guitar and I’ve come to terms with the fact that it will not improve.”

As of now, the shows at The Forum are slated for September 13 and 18 to go along with the two previously scheduled shows on September 15 and 16. Clapton recently wrapped up a short run at Madison Square Garden with no reports of any side effects from pneumonia or any other health issues.
