Eagles Guitarist Glenn Frey Passes Away at 67

Glenn Frey, founding member and guitarist of the Eagles has passed away according to TMZ. He was 67.

TMZ reports that the cause of death is a combination of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia. Frey had reportedly been battling intestinal issues for months and had surgery in November. 

Frey led the Eagles on many of their hits including “Take it Easy,” “Peaceful Easy Feeling,” “New Kid in Town” and many more. He also co-wrote “Hotel California” with Don Henley and Don Felder. Following the Eagles’ breakup in 1980, Frey launched a successful solo career as well as forays into acting. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 as a member of the Eagles.
