DMX and George Zimmerman Finalize Plans for Celebrity Boxing Match

Yes, you read that headline correctly. In a story that comes from far left of left field, this news is surely going to make you lose your mind (up in here, up in here). George Zimmerman, the “neighborhood watchmen” who was found not guilty following the murder of Trayvon Martin, has finally booked a celebrity boxing match after weeks of advertising his extensive boxing skills. The man standing opposite Zimmerman in the ring will unfortunately not be Floyd Mayweather, but rather rapper DMX.

To no one’s surprise, there were nearly 15,000 applicants to fight Zimmerman, according to Damon Feldman, the owner of Celebrity Boxing. “The news has been out for an hour and my email is overloaded with 8,000 people wanting to fight George,” Feldman told CNN. Zimmerman recently made headlines (again) when he said he wanted to fight Kanye West for beating up “defenseless people.” Because if anyone can recognize a defenseless person, it’s George Zimmerman.

DMX sure seems confident. He recently told TMZ that he is going to break every rule in boxing, and will “beat the living fuck” out of Zimmerman. The rapper’s publicist told NewsFeed that DMX has promised to “beat his ass.” Desperate gamblers looking for something to bet on in lieu of football season being over shouldn’t count Zimmerman out just yet (on second thought, look at that picture), the 30-year old has thirteen years on the 43-year old DMX and has been training hard for months. It could be a fight for a few seconds.

The date, time and location of the three-round (THREE ROUNDS?!) bout will be announced at a news conference next Wednesday. When reached for comment, Don King could only laugh, probably.
