This week at the Sundance Film Festival, the Long Strange Trip documentary will premiere, showcasing the rise of the Grateful Dead from their Bay Area roots to selling out stadiums across the world. 

As Mashable reports, Weir, Kreutzmann and Hart came together at the intimate Spur in Park City, UT last night, a 145-person bar, for an invite-only show. 

Among the highlights, takes on “Easy to Slip” and a “West L.A. Fadeaway” that featured Blues Traveler’s John Popper on harmonica. “Loose Lucy” followed sans Popper before Woody Harrelson sat in on vocals for a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Heartbreak Hotel.” Harrelson would remain on the “Not Fade Away” set closer. 

The three will take the stage more formally as members of Dead & Company later this summer, while Weir & Kreutzmann will team up with Dave Schools, Jeff Chimenti and Tom Hamilton at the destination event Los Muertos Con Queso.
