Foo Fighters Debut New Song “Lah Di Da” at Secret Solstice
June 17, 2017
Yesterday, Foo Fighters played Reykjavík, Iceland’s Secret Solstice Festival, kicking off their 2017 run of European summer festival dates, and finished their set with a flurry of live debuts, including a never-before-heard song, “Lah Di Da.”
As Stereogum reports, with a little over 20 minutes left in their slot, frontman Dave Grohl addressed the crowd, saying, “I want to play you all the new fucking songs.”
Making good on that promise, Grohl led his bandmates through the debut of “Lah Di Da,” along with the live debut of new single “Run” and even the full-band debut of “The Sky is a Neighborhood,” which Grohl and bandmates Taylor Hawkins and Rami Jaffee played at Sammy Hagar’s Acoustic-4-A-Cure benefit last month. Foo Fighters have said they plan to spend much of this year in the studio, crafting their proper follow up to 2014’s Sonic Highways, and the new songs are good indications that they are well on their way. Next up for the band is a stop at Rock the Beach in Helsinki, Finland on June 19.
