Yesterday, Dave Matthews Band’s Hiatus Turned One Year Old

September 5, 2017

One year ago yesterday, Dave Matthews Band played their final show before a self-imposed hiatus to catch their breath, with the final show occurring at arguably the most familiar venue to the band, the Gorge in Washington.

In the year that’s been, Matthews and guitarist Tim Reynolds have taken off on a number of acoustic tours while other members Boyd Tinsley worked with his new group Crystal Garden, Stefan Lessard stayed relatively quiet with a few gigs as a part of Secret Stash, a supergroup formed with Mike McCready. Drummer Carter Beauford was also quiet but emerged to play a few Weather Report tribute gigs with a band that also included Jeff Coffin.

While much of the group seems to be set on returning for a tour in 2018, rumors are swirling that a potential benefit show for their hometown of Charlottesville could be in the works although no official word is available on that as of now.
