Watch Umphrey’s McGee’s Full D.C. Show with Guest Larry Keel Including Opener Marcus King Band

February 16, 2018

Umphrey’s McGee brought their tour to The Anthem in Washington, DC, last night and punctuated the first set with a guest spot from guitarist Larry Keel, marking the band’s first collaboration with the bluegrass musician. Lucky for us, the band offered a free stream of the full show, along with the set from opening act Marcus King Band.

Last night’s sit in came at the end of set one, when UM guitarist Brendan Bayliss introduced Keel after “Attachments,” saying that the group and Keel had “crossed paths many times over the years” but never had the opportunity to collaborate on stage. Keel then added his acoustic to “You & You Alone,” a cut from UM’s new album it’s not us, and a cover of The Beatles’ “Dear Prudence,” with Keel and Jake Cinninger trading solos throughout both tunes. Set two kicked off with another new album track, “Half Delayed,” and included UM staples like “JaJunk” and “Puppet String” before the band closed out the show with an encore of it’s not us standout “Looks” into a return of “JaJunk.”

Watch the full show below and see UM’s setlist from the evening. The group opens its weekend in Asheville, NC, tonight with the first of two shows at ExploreAsheville.com Arena. Those shows will be streamed live via TourGigs.
