Umphrey’s McGee’s “Professor Wormbog” dates all the way back to 2000, originating as an Ali Baba’s Tahini tune that Jake Cinninger brought over when he joined up with the sextet in 2000.
The song is less common nowadays, garnering about a handful of plays each year after a brief resurgence in 2013 and 2014, so when it pops up it’s always special as the group presents one of its earliest tunes from the Cinninger era.
