Umphrey’s McGee kicked off their three-night run in New York City with a special tribute to Tom Petty as they opened the first night at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester with a debut of “Runnin’ Down a Dream.”
Over the years, while the band didn’t work in the vocals, they did occasionally weave Petty’s hit “Free Fallin'” into various instrumental sections of songs like “Bottom Half” and “Der Bluten Kat,” among others.
