Watch: The Lone Bellow Play “Then Came the Morning” on Letterman

Today, The Lone Bellow will celebrate the release of their stellar sophomore effort Then Came the Morning and last night they kicked off that celebration with a performance on Late Show with David Letterman. The Brooklyn trio (a description that earned a quip from the host) delivered the title track of their Aaron Dessner-produced LP with some additional instrumentation, including a few horn players and some string accompaniments, all of which appear on the record in some form. Another change for the group is Kanene Pipkin on bass, which she learned for this album specifically. The result is an energetic performance with Zach Williams in full-frontman mode and the rest of the band feeding off of that energy.

Currently, the band is off the road after the snowstorm in the Northeast caused their Barnes & Noble performance to be cancelled. They will however hit the road beginning February 12 in Boston, MA. Check out their full tour schedule here.
