Glastonbury always packs a few surprises and The Killers provided a big one as they invaded the John Peel Stage for an unannounced set over the weekend. 

“They say you play the John Peel Stage twice in your career, once on the way up and again on the way down,” Killers frontman Brandon Flowers said after the opening “When You Were Young.” “It’s good to be back,” he joked. 

The band wasted very little time getting right to their hits in the hour-long set to an absolutely massive ocean of people in front of them. The energy is apparent from the first note and carries through to tunes like “Somebody Told Me,” “Human,” “Smile Like You Mean It” and of course “Mr. Brightside.”
