Ryan Adams, The Infamous Stringdusters and Nicki Bluhm offered up a preview of their collaborative Newport Folk Fest set and damn if it didn’t go off without a hitch as the three came together at Telluride Bluegrass Festival for an entire set of Adams classics as well as a reimagining of Dio’s “Holy Diver,” which Adams dedicated to the band’s frontman and namesake Ronnie James Dio.

“[Adams has] got old school bluegrass in him too,” The Infamous Stringdusters’ Chris Pandolfi told Relix. “If you listen to his music, it’s country rock essentially. It’s rock and roll but it’s got those tones and it’s got a twang, an edge, that brings the music to life.” That combination, sprinkled with the vocals of Nicki Bluhm, reimagined many of Adams timeless tunes along with two new ones, “Orange Cat” and “Peppers,” both played in Telluride.

Below, watch the ensemble play a couple of songs including the aforementioned “Holy Diver” as well as Adams’ classic “Come Pick Me Up.”
