Watch Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith and John Travolta Join Foo Fighters at Jones Beach

Foo Fighters brought their summer tour to the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY, on Saturday night, and the band welcomed a couple of disparate guests for the show, starting with John Travolta and continuing with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith.

Both Travolta and Smith have guested with the band before—surprisingly, at least in the case of the former. As Billboard notes, Travolta came up to add some dance moves to the Grease hit “You’re the One That I Want,” appropriately decked out in a leather jacket but waving off Dave Grohl’s invitation to take the microphone during the tune.

A slightly more involved sit in took place later in the night, when Smith—and his signature red cap that I believe at this point must be permanently attached to his head—took over for Taylor Hawkins on drums for a cover of Faces’ “Stay With Me,” with Hawkins taking lead vocals. Smith and the Foos also played the song back in 2015 at Citi Field. For good measure, Hawkins took some time out during Saturday’s cover to let each member of the band take a short solo, including ripping segments from Smith on drums and Grohl on guitar.
