These young bucks in Promise of the Real have injected a ton of new energy into Neil Young, particularly on tunes like the classic “Cortez the Killer,” as you’ll see below. 

Young and Promise of the Real came together for a short, albeit fully-charged set at the annual Farm Aid event held outside of Pittsburgh this year, playing alongside fellow Farm Aid board members Dave Matthews, Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp. While the other three members opted for a little more scaled back, acoustic-driven version, Young and POTR brought the loud noise.
