This past weekend, the David Lynch-curated Festival of Disruption made its New York City debut, with an array of events and performances around the city over three days and a number of concerts at Brooklyn Steel on Saturday and Sunday, including solo sets from both Jim James and Angel Olsen, who also found themselves sharing the stage for an incredible onstage collaboration.

During James’ set, the My Morning Jacket frontman welcomed up Olsen, joking that they were going to sing a song that neither of them knew, karaoke-style. The tune in fact ended up being a cover of Sonny and Cher’s “Baby Don’t Go,” which also appears on James’ solo album Tribute To 2.

It goes without saying that both of these artists have incredible voices, but combining them—especially in a classic duet like this—is just heavenly. Neither of the singers seem to take the collaboration too seriously, but that doesn’t stop them from delivering a fantastic rendition. This isn’t the first time the two have performed together, as James joined Olsen at last year’s Newport Folk Festival, and here’s hoping it’s not the last.
