Lettuce celebrated Mardi Gras in some western climes with a party at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas on Tuesday night, and the funk outfit didn’t disappoint, offering a bit of the New Orleans spirit about 1,700 miles away from the Crescent City.

The night featured a slew of funky Lettuce originals and wrapped up with an appropriate cover of James Brown’s “Funky Drummer,” with Adam Deitch delivering the tune’s iconic drum break, which has been sampled in countless tracks since it was recorded by the late Clyde Stubblefield.
