Video: John Mayer Trio Reunite on _Late Night_

John Mayer Trio played together for the first time in nearly five years last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers, performing the JJ Cale hit “After Midnight.” Flanked by bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Steve Jordan, Mayer (decked out in a swanky Grateful Dead sweater) dug deep into his blues influence to deliver a truly inspired performance of the popular song.

The Trio were also joined by Chick Corea, Manolo Madrena and Wallace Roney, three guests you can probably bet will be featured on the new John Mayer Trio project, coming soon. Mayer confirmed via Twitter that Corea and Roney (trumpet) already joined the group in the studio. Watch the replay of the performance below.
