Watch Jimmy Herring Join Phil Lesh for “Box of Rain” and “Not Fade Away” in Boulder

June 26, 2017

Phil Lesh and the Terrapin Family Band made their long-awaited return to Colorado for three nights at the Fox Theatre in Boulder where they were joined by special guest Jimmy Herring of Widespread Panic, in town to play the band’s annual Red Rocks summer run.

The scheduling gods blessed us yet again as Herring found his way to Boulder to sit in with Lesh and the Terrapin Family Band for much of the second set including “St. Stephen,” Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love,” “The Eleven”and David Crosby’s “Almost Cut My Hair” as well as the below two, “Box of Rain” and “Not Fade Away.”

Herring is of course a member of Phil Lesh’s “The Q” lineup, which has played recent shows together at the Capitol Theatre and Forest Hills Stadium. That lineup features Lesh and Herring as well as Warren Haynes, John Molo and Rob Barraco.
