Jason Isbell’s tour with the 400 Unit landed the band out west this week, with the tour picking up tonight in Tucson, AZ. The group found some time to jump over to Los Angeles for a pair of tunes from their recent, excellent new LP The Nashville Sound. 

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the band rolled through the tender, emotional centerpiece of the record “If We Were Vampires,” which harkens back to some of Isbell’s more traditional songwriting style from the Southeastern-era. While “Cumberland Gap” showcased the newfound power of the ensemble, with driving guitars teaming up with Isbell’s thunderous vocals to create a well-crafted rock song.
