Father John Misty brougth his Pure Comedy tour to the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY and delivered a typically energetic and mesmerizing performance complete with a full orchestra as well as his backing band.
Tillman seems to be more in control of his material than ever, effortlessly weaving in cuts from his previous records I Love You, Honeybear and Fear Fun to blend with the new apoclayptic Pure Comedy material. The set included nearly the entirety of Pure Comedy and Honeybear while mixing in other tunes like “Real Love Baby,” “I’m Writing A Novel” and “Hollywood Cemetary Forever.”
