With the final three shows of the Fare Thee Well run slated to kick off at Chicago’s Soldier Field in a matter of hours, CBS This Morning aired this brief clip profiling the upcoming shows featuring a sit-down interview with Bill Kreutzmann as well as show promoter Peter Shapiro.

Among the topics discussed are a quick scan through the band’s history, to which Kreutzmann hilariously admits he remembers the after-parties over the years more than he does the actual shows. He also summed up the band’s lasting influence, saying, “That’s the magic about this music, it goes through all generations.” 

Kreutzmann admitted he will be emotional on the final night. “When you’ve done so much far out stuff with people, to all of a sudden say it’s over–it’s kind of sad.”
