Watch: Carl Broemel Visits His Doppelgänger at the Louvre; Explains On-Stage Rig

My Morning Jacket is currently over in Europe playing a series of festivals, which means one thing: lots and lots of sightseeing. At a recent stop in Paris, the band stopped at The Louvre where drummer Patrick Hallahan snapped the above photo of guitarist Carl Broemel standing by a self-portrait in the 200-year old museum. “When art imitates Carl,” the caption read on the band’s Instagram page. One can only assume this the first in a long line of Broemel’s.

In other MMJ news, Broemel visited with PremierGuitar.com to explain his expansive rig that not only includes electric guitar but also pedal steel and saxophone as well. The guitarist ran through everything from his guitars to the pedals and amps that make one of the more unique players in the world of rock and roll tick. Watch it below.

The band’s tour continues tomorrow night in Belgium with support from Jim James’ The New Basement Tapes bandmate, Taylor Goldsmith and Dawes.
