At 73 years young, Paul McCartney electrified Lollapalooza last night with a devastating 31-song setlist that leaned on his extensive and classic catalog with The Beatles as well as his time with Wings. Sir Paul also nodded to his recent collaboration with Chicago’s Kanye West and Rihanna, with a snippet of “FourFiveSeconds” early on in the set as well as endless stories about Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Harrison and of course, John Lennon. The greatest feat McCartney may have pulled off was making a field of 70,000+ feel like a small club in Liverpool.

Among the highlights was a special appearance from Alabama Shakes’ Brittany Howard during the encore, which also featured a snippet of the Abbey Road medley as well as tunes like “Helter Skelter” and “Can’t Buy Me Love” along with “Hi, Hi, Hi.” Howard joined McCartney for The Beatles classic “Get Back,” adding vocals and guitar. The frontman was particularly engaged during this performance, constantly sharing the mic with Howard on the famous chorus.

The tune turned into a bit of a call and response between the two towards the end, as McCartney joked, “Brittany, do you want to get back?” referencing Howard’s home state of Alabama multiple times as well. Watch the special collaboration below.
