Beck made his much anticipated return to Saturday Night Live to share some of his new material from Morning Phase, the songwriter’s latest album released February 21. His first performance in eight years, and seventh total, saw Beck flanked by Father John Misty’s J. Tillman for a performance of “Blue Moon.”

The second performance, a gorgeous take on “Wave,” also featured Tillman along with a string orchestra. Last night’s episode was hosted by The Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parsons and unfortunately did not include any Beck-related skits. Until next time, I suppose.
