Watch a Young Arcade Fire Play an Early Version of “No Cars Go”

Arcade Fire burst onto the scene and into our hearts with 2004’s Funeral, but before that they were a group of unknowns gigging around their local Toronto honing the tunes that would soon fill arenas and festival fields alike.

In this new-to-YouTube clip, Win Butler, Regine Chassagne, Tim Kingsbury and former bandmate Dane Mills deliver a rough around the edges version of “No Cars Go,” a song that would end up on 2007’s Neon Bible. This video, taken in March of 2003, comes some 18 months before Funeral would be released and Arcade Fire would morph into the indie darlings they are today.
