A trailer for the nearly four-hour Grateful Dead documentary Long Strange Trip is available to view below as the film readies to come to life in theatres and on digital subscription services. 

“It was total chaos,” Mickey Hart says at one point when describing the incredible heights of the Dead, which ultimately lead to the band’s heartbreaking end with Jerry Garcia’s death. Garcia is well-represented throughout as director Amir Bar-Lev sprinkles in select quotes from the bandleader as well as a bevy of live footage. 

The film will be shown across the country beginning May 25 and the world will be able to stream the Bar-Lev/Martin Scorsese production on June 2 as it makes its premiere on Amazon Prime.
