Watch: 1,000 Musicians Play “Learn to Fly” to Bring Foo Fighters to Italy, Dave Grohl Responds
File this under “Pretty Fucking Cool.” 1,000 musicians in Cesena, Italy, a northern Italian town of about 100,000 people, came together to play Foo Fighters’ “Learn to Fly” in hopes of bringing the band to their town on their current Sonic Highways tour. Normally, campaigns like this come and go with little to no response by the band (have we forgot the good people of Queens who want to see Pearl Jam?) but this one has piqued Grohl’s interest. First, watch the video below.
Taking to the band’s Twitter account last night, Grohl posted a message in the language of romance saying, “Ci vediamo a presto, Cesena,” which roughly translates to “See you soon, Cesena.” It remains to be seen if Grohl’s new rock and roll iron throne will clear customs, but as of now it looks like Cesena better get ready to sing “Learn to Fly” for real.
Ci vediamo a presto, Cesena…. xxx Davide
