Video Premiere: The Delta Saints “Berlin”

July 18, 2016

Loud and Proud Records has just released an expanded version of the Delta Saints’ 2015 album Bones. The Bones Special Edition (which is now available on iTunes) includes 6 bonus tracks, including 3 b-sides and 3 live versions of album cuts that were recorded while filming performance videos. Today we are premiering the video of “Berlin” from the Nashville-based blues/soul quintet.

The group tells Relix, “We filmed ‘Berlin’ in a beautiful old church in the heart of downtown Nashville. We all piled into a surprisingly small room and set up in a circle. Our director/videographer, Tim Duggan and his team grabbed their cameras and ear plugs and shot from the center. I imagine it was a sound engineer’s nightmare, trying to get good recordings in that space, but our guys did really incredible work. The floor that we shot on hadn’t really been touched since the 40’s, so the pastel plaster walls were crumbling, and the entire vibe was really soft. Our main theme for this video was live sound. We’ve done music videos to the album tracks before, but we felt really strongly about doing it this way because we felt that the song deserved it. What you’re seeing and hearing isn’t perfect, but it’s us. We’re incredibly proud of it, and are excited for you to watch it.”

The Delta Saints will appear at Nashville’s Elliston Place Street Fest on July 23 and then begin a national U.S. tour on August 17 at the Pour House in Raleigh, NC.
