Next Wednesday, February 22, The Bushwick Hotel will celebrate the release of their new EP, Hard Times, with a show at the Mercury Lounge. Gregory Ferreira, the group’s founder, explains that he wrote the material on Hard Times, through “a stream of consciousness… I got into a hypnotic loop of playing the riffs over and over until I fell asleep. Writing this record felt like a dream. I don’t remember writing them as separate songs. The first song was one I had written earlier and retooled. I wrote the rest of the songs in the wee hours with a Spanish guitar on my lap.”

Today we premiere the official video for “Katrina” which was directed by the band’s long-time collaborator, Dale Thomas Krupla, directed. It was shot in Phoenix by Krupla, and in Brooklyn by Scott Irvine and Kim Meinelt. Ferreira describes as the song a “classic story of boy meets girl. Girl meets mushrooms. Boy loses girl.”
