Video Premiere: Mail the Horse “Flowers, Keys & Gasoline”

September 23, 2015

Earlier this summer Brooklyn-based “grunge gopsel” quintet Mail the Horse released their studio album Planet Gates. The folk-rock group appears tonight in Washington, DC at the Hamilton with Spirit Family Reunion, and today we premiere the video for “Flowers, Keys & Gasoline” from Planet Gates. The band tells Relix that the song “is a true story about looking forward to a goodbye—accepting the inevitable end of a summer fling. This three legged cat eventually died, and I threw away the keys I’d been saving. When those summer days say farewell, and you want them to remember you.” As for the video, which was filmed and directed by Ian Mcguire, they note that it relates, “The ongoing adventures of Chip Henderson: a shady, no good used car salesman, or in this case, a former used car salesman. Chip finds himself jobless and on the open road, pursuing the American Dream, picking up every drifter along the way. Riding the road to nowhere with a heavy heart and an empty wallet. He will travel the ocean and space. He seeks the endless party.” Planet Gates is now available for purchase.
