Video: Jimmy Chamberlin Joins Umphrey’s McGee

Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin hopped on stage during the encore of Umphrey’s McGee Chicago (and tour) finale for a rendition of the Pumpkins tune “Cherub Rock.” UM has kept the Siamese Dream cut in regular rotation for several years, with Brendan Bayliss, Jake Cinninger and Kris Myers sharing Corgan duty. While the Umphrey’s version is a little harder than the Pumpkins, Chamberlin (who departed from the group in 2000) played along and drove the band to a powerful finale.
