Conor Oberst kicked off a press tour in New York City last night as he appeared on The Tonight Show in support of his latest album Upside Down Mountain to perform “Zigzagging Toward the Light.” Joining the mastermind behind Bright Eyes was Dawes, his backing band for the performance as well as a majority of his tour this year. Recently, the duo performed at the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, AL.

In addition to the performance, Oberst sat down backstage to talk about his first concert experience, where he jumped on stage with his father’s band to sing a song. Watch the full replay below.
