Video: Arcade Fire Cover Jane’s Addiction, Beverly Hills Cop Theme in Los Angeles

by Rob Slater on August 04, 2014

Arcade Fire's first two-night stand of the final leg of their Reflektor tour came at The Forum in Los Angeles. As they've been doing throughout, the band took the time to break out a few covers of local musical heroes. On opening night, they delivered Jane's Addiction's "Been Caught Stealing" while frontman Win Butler stole all of the cell phones of the people in the front row. Decked out in their patented bobblehead garb, the band then teased a bit of Guns 'N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle" before "Here Comes the Night Time."

The following night, as a nod to the Eddie Murphy classic Beverly Hills Cop, the band jammed on a bit of "Axel F," the theme song to the movie. As one of my personal favorite movies, this is one of the greater musical achievements of the year. Watch a replay of the festivities below.
